Janis Cleone Bushey Bentsen, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in San Antonio, TX. Born in Mission on December 5, 1928, she lived in McAllen until 2009 when she moved to San Antonio. Janis was predeceased by her beloved son, Kirby James Bentsen in 1999.

Janis was a member of the first Baptist Church in McAllen and later The Fellowship of San Antonio. She was a Custom House Broker with Barnes Custom House Brokers in Hidalgo and B&D Custom House Brokers in Houston. She worked with the Woman's Auxiliary in the McAllen Hospital for many years and was an active member for over 60 years in PEO Chapter GH of McAllen, a Philanthropic Organization for the education of women.

Janis is survived by three children: Marsha Bentsen Jackson and Shelley Kay Bentsen both of San Antonio and Guy Bentsen of Huntsville. She is survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorial service: The Fellowship of San Antonio, April 7th at 4:00 p.m. located at 23755 Canyon Golf Road, San Antonio, TX 78258 and interred at the Church Columbarium in the Church gardens.

The family has requested that friends donate to their favorite charity in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements are with Sunset North Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX.
