He was born Jan. 6, 1960, in Goshen to Carl and Velma (Reynolds) Bergstedt. On Sept. 27, 1986, in Scott, he married Linda Kay Weiderman.
She survives in Goshen, along with one brother, James T. (Pamela) Bergstedt of Shipshewana; one sister, Cynthia L. (Mark) Ghaster of Kendallville; his father, Carl (Nancy) Bergstedt of Shipshewana; and his mother, Velma Gross of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Bergstedt, who died in 1984.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the noon Friday funeral service, all at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home & Crematory, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart. Pastor Jeremy Helmuth of Brighton Chapel will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, where Elkhart DAV Chapter 19 will render military rites.
Mr. Bergstedt was the owner of Mobile Repair Service for the past 14 years. He graduated in 1978 from Sturgis (Mich.) High School and enjoyed motorcycling, parachuting and golfing. He also enjoyed children and animals.
Mr. Bergstedt was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
