Wife Of Well Known Elgin Twp. Resident
Mrs. Berkenpas, 60, wife of henry Berkenpas, well known farmer in Elgin township, died Wednesday night at 11 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Hospital in this city. Mrs. Berkenpas had been ill for some time and her condition was critical following an operation a week ago.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 from the Berkenpas residence and services will be held at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church at Seney, Rev. W. N. Baker officiating.
Mrs. Berkenpas was a lifelong resident of this community. Her maiden name was Annie Taminga and she was born June 4, 1882, and grew up in Le Mars.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Henry Berkenpas, seven sons and two daughters, Richard of Sioux Center, Leonard of Sidney, Golbert, Donald, Harold, Darrell of Le Mars, Mrs. Will Faber of Ireton, and Gertrude at home.
The funeral arrangements are in charge of the Mauer funeral home.
