Mrs. Ellen Burkenpas, 79 widow of Peter Burkenpas, died at her home, 1328 North Fifteenth Street at 6:50 o'clock Thursday evening.
Mrs. Burkenpas was born August 25, 1857 in The Netherlands and came to America 55 years ago. She was a life member of the first Reformed church. Surviving is a brother, Jerry Rhoda of Lafayette.
Friends may call at the residence after 6 o'clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted there at 1:30 o'clock Saturday and from the First Reformed Church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Marion Nollen officiating. Burial in Spring Vale cemetery.
