Anna was the daughter of Alec and Mattie (Gould) Wilson, she was raised in Unga Village. She married John Berntsen Jr. on June 5, 1941 and together they had five children, a boy and girl twins, two more sons and one more daughter.

Anna was survived by her husband; her two sons and daughter; her parents Alec Wilson and Mattie Galovin; her brothers Alec Wilson Jr. and Daniel Wilson. Two-step brothers, George and Ray Galovin and one step-sister, Mary Galovin. She was preceded in death by twins, a daughter and a son; and her brother Robert.

Anna (Wilson) Berntsen is interred in the Unga Russian Aleut Cemetery.
