The August 1870 Census - Salisbury Twp, Middleport, Ohio - states that Frederick and Mary (both reported to be 43 years at the time and both as being from Wurttemberg, Germany) had the following children living in their household: Frederick, 17 years old - born in Germany; Charles, 15 years old - born in Pennsylvania; Mary, 11 years old - born in West Virginia; John, 10 years old - born in Ohio; Emma, 8 years old - born in Ohio; Lettie, 5 years old - born in Ohio; William, 2 years old - born in Ohio.

Mary passed away on March 16, 1910 at the age of 82 years, 11 mos, 26 days. She was buried in Middleport Hill Cemetery on March 17, 1910. She was the widow of Frederick Besserer.
