Allen E Betty was born September 7, 1928 at Carleton, NE. He was the youngest child born to Lew J.and Delia Betty.

Allen grew up in Carleton and graduated from Carleton High School in 1946. Allen served three years in the U.S. Air Force following graduation.

Naomi Dudgeon, daughter of Burton and Thelma Dudgeon, grew up in the rural Belvidere area and attended District #48 school through the 8th grade. She graduated from Carleton High School in 1946. She attended the University of Nebraska Teachers College and taught country school for two years. She then attended business school in Omaha and upon graduating worked for Fairmont Foods. In 1949 she moved to Lincoln and worked for the Lincoln Telephone Company.

On January 15, 1950, Allen and Naomi were married at the Brethren Church in Carleton. To this union two sons were born; Neil and Kevin.

After their marriage they farmed in Thayer and Fillmore counties until 1970. Allen then worked as Farm Manager for a University of Nebraska experimental farm. Naomi worked for Alfs Well Drilling for 25 years.

Neil and Kevin both graduated from Shickley High School and the University of Nebraska. Both are married and Neil has two sons; Justin and Aaron.

They are members of the Bethel Church of the Brethren. Allen passed away August 21, 2002.
