Sallie A. Beveridge, 84, residing in South Bend, passed away at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She was born May 4, 1928 in Mishawaka, IN, a daughter of William & Laura (Brownlee) Garner, and has remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On September 1, 1950 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Ralph A. Beveridge. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage until his passing on April 17, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Wedel and Billie Jo Garner.

Mrs. Beveridge retired from the South Bend Community School Corp. where she was a 2ndGrade Teacher at Studebaker School for 30 years. She graduated from Washington-Clay High School,received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Bethel College, Mishawaka, and a Master'sfrom Indiana University of South Bend. She was actively involved at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, where she worked in Children's Ministries, and was involved with Womens Bible Study.

She is survived by three daughters, Laura (Kevin) Jozwiak of South Bend, Kathleen (Ron) Gatliff and Beth (Rob) Slabaugh of Goshen, and a son, David (Natalie Weber) Beveridge of South Bend. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Garner of Michigan City, IN.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 61770 Miami Road, South Bend. Rev. Steve Meck will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Thursday at the Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend.
