    Alice Mabel Lightowler was born December 12, 1903 to parents Arthur & Emma Celeste (Hohn) Lightowler. She was born in the Hackett/Finleyville area of Washington County, Pennsylvania, and was raised there until approximately 1915. Around this time her family moved to New England Road in West Mifflin.

    Alice married at least three times and had two sons. On December 13, 1920, she married a Theodore M. Gasser in Wellsburg, West Virginia. Together they had one son named Arthur Gasser, born April 17, 1921 in Clairton. Alice & Theodore appear to divorce shortly after.

    On September 19, 1923, Alice gave birth to a second son, Albert. He is listed as Albert Cochran on the 1930 census. It is unclear whether Alice had married again.

    On February 25, 1925, Alice married Albert Briggs in Wheeling, West Virginia. They divorce shortly after.

    Around 1930, Alice married William "Pappy" Biddle. William adopted Alice's two boys and the family lived in the West Elizabeth area, where William worked as a fireman.

    In 1958, Alice found out that she had cancer and didn't have long to live. She passed away May 2, 1959 at her home in West Elizabeth. She is buried in the Lightowler family plot in Lebanon Church Cemetery.
