"Sudden Death
Mr. Alfred Biddle, a son of Thomas A. Biddle, and a member of the banking firm T.A. Biddle & Co., died very suddenly on Saturday afternoon. About 3 o'clock he walked along Walnut street in apparent good health and an hour later he died at his residence on Spruce street above Seventeenth. Death was caused by a clot of blood on the heart".
