Christina was born in New York to Alva and Margaret (Jones) Bidlack. Her father worked at various jobs - trucking, laborer, farmer. She was the second of 6 children. Siblings being Helen born 1852, Martha born 1859, Emogene "Emma" born 1863, George born 1866, and Sarah born 1870.
She married a farmer, Henry Austin, in about 1872. About 8 years later they had moved to Michigan and were living in Deerfield, Mecosta MI where Henry was working as a drayman. Daughter, Clara, was 6 years old. By 1900 they were in Prairieville, Barry Michigan where Christina was a farmer's wife and daughter, Mary, was 16 years old. Ten years later they were in Cooper, Kalamazoo Michigan where Christina was a washer woman, and Henry was doing truck gardening.
She died at age 79 of pneumonia in Allegan County. Her daughter, Mary, was my grandmother.
