Anne D. (Dolan) Bigelow, 82, of Mattapoisett died May 20, 2003 at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Bigelow, Jr. and daughter of the late Richard and Anne G. (Fallon) Dolan.

Mrs. Bigelow was born in New York City and raised in Great Neck, NY. She later lived in Cambridge and Sudbury before moving to Mattapoisett in 1990.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.

Most recently, Mrs. Bigelow was a public relations volunteer for the Mattapoisett Yacht Club, a volunteer for the church bereavement committee, and a board member of the Friends of Mattapoisett Library. During her life, she donated her time to many other organizations including serving on the board of the Goodnow Library and the Maynard Public Library, Sudbury Public Health Nursing Association and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She was a graduate of College Misericordia, class of 1943 and Fordham University, School of Law, class of 1947.

Mrs. Bigelow was an avid gardener and enjoyed debating.

Survivors include her son, C. Willard Bigelow, III, and his wife Lauren, of Acton, MA; a daughter, Mary Ruth Bigelow of Sudbury; 3 grandchildren, Talia Bigelow, Craig Bigelow and Jennifer Bigelow; 1 great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Bigelow; several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Richard Dolan, Jr.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) MattapoisettSaturday, May 24th at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Visiting hours Friday, May 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, MA.
