Cora Marie Hoffman Biggs, 87, of the 200 block of Consul Ave., died May 26, 1993, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Biggs was born in Kinsley, Kan., and was the widow of Donald M. Biggs. She and her children came to Norfolk in 1942 from Craig, Mo., to join her husband who had been employed at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard since shortly after Pearl Harbor. She was retired from the fur storage department of Ames & Brownley Department Store and had also worked as a seamstress at Milady and Nicholson & Marks.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley B. Brown of Virginia Beach and Mary B. Sparrow of Alamosa, Colo.; two sons, J. Quentin Biggs of San Francisco and Billy G. Biggs of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Alton L. Brown of Virginia Beach; and a daughter-in-law, Faith Ford Biggs of Dallas.
A private service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. O. Morton Harris Jr. The family will receive friends at 253 Consul Ave., Virginia Beach, following services. Hollomon-Brown Funeral home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Yellow Fever Memorial Park, c/o Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast, 4190 S. Plaza Trail, Virginia Beach, VA 23452-1931.
