Jane Biggs Agnew, died Feb. 10, 2001, in DePaul Medical Center. Mrs. Agnew was
born in Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Margaret Ayers Williamson, step
father Walter E. Williamson Jr. and her father David Biggs. She was the wife of
David W. Agnew for 54 1/2 years at his passing. She was a member of Second
Presbyterian Church in Norfolk.
Mrs. Agnew was a member of Maury High School Class of '38 Reunion Committee;
Scherzo Music Club; Girl Scouts of America Council; past president of Willard
PTA; Norfolk City Counselor of PTA; chairman of Children Come First TV series;
Edgewater Association; Camp Apasus Music Dept. Counselor and former member of
Knox Presbyterian Church and its senior and junior choirs.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Haggerty and her husband Jerry of Panama
City, Fla., Betsy Brewer and Dickie Fulcher of Norfolk and Nancy Hurst and her
fiance Elwood of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren David W. Holder and his
wife Margaret, W.O. James L. Duncan Jr. and his wife Kimberly, and Andrea L.
Bossow and her husband Matt; and three great-grandchildren Taylor, Sierra and
Bailey.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at H.D. Oliver Funeral
Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Steven E. Frazier. Burial will be at Forest
Lawn Cemetery Norfolk. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. in
the funeral home.
