Blaine Matthew Billinger, 29, Overland Park, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at St. Luke's South Hospital, Overland Park.

He was born to Kenneth and Patty (Sander) Billinger.

He was a 2000 graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and attended Friends University, Wichita. He was active in Boy Scouts while living in Hays and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1996. He also served as a volunteer for the Kansas Special Olympics Basketball Tournament each year in Hays.

While in high school, he worked as a part-time radio announcer, Blaine Matthews, for KJLS, KKQY and KFIX. He lived in St. Louis for five years, working as an account manager for the May Co. and then moved to Kansas City where he joined his father in the insurance business. He also worked in the lawn and landscape business. He loved animals, NASCAR, baseball, music and especially the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his parents, Overland Park; his girlfriend, Stephanie Smiley, Overland Park; numerous aunts and uncles, Brad and Alice Sander, Murdock, Gladys and Bob Swindler, Ellis, Darrell and Wanita Sander, Gorham, Marty and Saundra Sander, Hutchinson, Rich and Diane Weber, Bob and Marilyn Billinger, and Kathy and Norman Kuhn, all of Victoria, Jeanne and Vernon Riedel, Yocemento, and Dan Billinger, Ulysses; and many cousins, Shannon Sander and Darrell Wayne Sander, both of Hays, Mandi Stephenson, Cheney, Kelly Sander, Marquette, Neb., Jennifer Grayek, Camp Lejeune, N.C., Irwin Sander and Josh Sander, both of Hutchinson, Melissa Schmidt, Douglas Kuhn, Danny Kuhn, and Michael Billinger, all of Victoria, Richard Weber and Angela Sack, both of Hays, Aaron Riedel, Raytown, Mo., Amanda Billinger, Grandview, Mo., Brandon Billinger, Tonganoxie, and Amy Billinger, St. Petersburg, Russia; and his beloved dog, Boston.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alvin P. and Bonnie (Irwin) Sander and Daniel and Angelita (Giebler) Billinger; an uncle, Irv Sander; an aunt, Barbara Weber; and his best friend and buddy, Eddie Brungardt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a 2000 class rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at the church.
