Mary Loretta Alpaugh (nee Billingsley), 88, long time resident of Linwood, PA died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Christiana Hospital, DE from complications of heart failure. Born to Mary & Earl Billingsley she graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA and attended Chester Hospital School of Nursing. She married Edward J. Alpaugh in 1947 and they raised their family of five in Linwood, PA. She loved to babysit her grandchildren, which she often did. Also known for her love of cryptograms and puzzles, she enjoyed many hours of socializing with her friends at the Linwood Senior Center.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Edward J. and son, Joseph T. She is survived by her son, Edward J.(Trish) of Eldersburg, MD; daughter, Janice M. Scalora (Mario) of Avondale, PA; son, Michael T. (Gail), of Wilmington, DE; son, Patrick J. of Boothwyn, PA; grandchildren, Sarah, Eddie, Jennifer, Salvatore, Michele, Michael, Patrick, Caitlin, Bridget, Bethany, Dylan,and Logan and great grandchildren, Cassidy, Matthew, and Marissa.
Visitation will be Sunday 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday 9:30 -10:00 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home, 935 South Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA. Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Saviour Church, 122 East Ridge Road, Linwood, PA. Burial is at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
