Survivors include his companion, Gloria Hurtt; nieces, Catherine White and Helen Jordan of New Mexico; and nephews, Dr. Robert Birdwell of New Mexico and Dr. Cody Birdwell of Texas.
Services have been held.
Entombment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Interstate 805 and Imperial Avenue, San Diego.
