Estelle M. "Stella" Bishop Austin was the daughter of Calvin T. Bishop and Marguerite Arnold. She was born and raised in the Town of Venice, Cayuga Co., New York near Stewart's Corners. Stella married George D. Austin ca. 1925. They lived at Utica, Oneida Co., New York until 1944 when they purchased a home near Stewart's Corners. George died in 1964. Stella sold their property the next year. In 1979 she was living in the Benson Proprietary Home in the Town of Ledyard, Cayuga Co., New York west of Poplar Ridge. Stella died in 1981. Stella had no children, although George had children from a previous marriage.

She was born in Venice and had lived in this area all her life. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventists Church. Surviving is a nephew, Gordan Palmer of Venice, two nieces, Margaret Sperry of Winterhaven, FL and June Bishop, Walla Wall[a], Washington. Funeral services were held Monday [26 January 1981 - R. A. Post] at the Wade Funeral Home, Moravia. Spring burial will be in Genoa Rural Cemetery."
