Bio: Harriett "Hattie" Bishop Aiken was the daughter of Augustus Bishop and
Sarah Ann Tracy. Although she was born in the Town of Ledyard, Cayuga Co., New
York, she was raised in the adjacent Town of Scipio. Hattie married Thomas A.
Aiken ca. 1882. They resided at Auburn, Cayuga Co., New York where Thomas worked
as a House Painter. Hattie and Thomas had six children: Bertha May, Eva M.,
Fannie E., Claude T., Harry, and Carl Aiken. Bertha and Carl died in their first
year of life.

"Mrs. Harriett Aiken - Mrs. Harriett Bishop Aiken, widow of Thomas Aiken of 1
1/2 Burt Avenue, died Thursday morning at her home, after a long illness. She
was born in Ledyard and made her home in Auburn for about 50 years. She was a
member of First Methodist Church. Mrs. Aiken is survived by two daughters, Miss
Eva M. Aiken and Miss Fanny E. Aiken of Auburn; two sons, Claude T. Aiken of
Royal Oak, Mich., and Harry Aiken, Windsor, Ont., Can.; one brother, Calvin
Bishop, Venice; two grandsons, Claude T. Aiken, Jr., and Robert Lee Aiken of
Royal Oak, Mich. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at
the home. Rev. Harold G. Stearns, pastor, First M. E. Church, and Rev. Clarence
Laman of the Church of the Open Bible will officiate. Burial will be in Fort
Hill Cemetery."

died on Thursday, were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at her home, 1 1/2
Burt Avenue. Rev. Harold G. Stearns and Rev. Clarence Laman officiated. Burial
was in Fort Hill Cemetery. Bearers were Rev. Frank Hines, Dr. Charles S. Kerrick
and Claude M. Ward of Auburn, DeWitt B. Beach and Edwin Bishop of Sherwood and
Earl Bishop of Locke."
