Mrs. Caroline M. Bissell died at her home seven miles south of Dexter, at 8:30 a.m., January 1st. She was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, August 30, 1831. She was married at the age of 21 to Mr. O. B. Bissell. The first two years of their married life was spent in Ohio, after which they moved to Iowa by team and settled on part of their present homestead in Madison county. Mother Bissell was a devoted wife and fond mother, counting no sacrifice dear, when made for those she loved. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. E. Willey, at the Penn Center church, at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.--Dexter Sentinel.
Note: Burial was made in the Penn Center cemetery.
