A resident of Wapello County all her life, she was an elementary school teacher at Rutledge, Stuart, Jefferson, Sunnyslope, and Douma Schools. She received her B.A. degree from Drake University. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Ottumwa, a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 112, Wapello White Shrine 4, Christina Court 3 of Amaranath, Retired Teacher's Association, American Business Women's Association, A.D.K. Sorority, Ottumwa Hospital Auxiliary, Izaak Walton League, and the Wapello County Republican Party. She died at 5:20 PM on June 10, 1986.
