William Earl "Bill" Black, Jr., born September 19, 1916 in Memphis, Tennessee, died at home in Franklin, Tennessee on June 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Black and Cecil Black Husky, his wife Olive Fisher Black and his son William Earl Black, III. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George Robert "Bob" and Baeteena Black of Franklin, Tennessee and his granddaughter, Stacey Elizabeth Black of Knoxville, Tennessee. Bill Black lived most of his life in Memphis, Tennessee, where he retired after a forty-five year career as an engineer with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. In 1995 he moved to Franklin, Tennessee to live with his son and daughter-in-law. He was an avid University of Tennessee football fan and enjoyed playing golf and feeding birds and ducks on the golf course. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. Elisabeth's Episcopal Church, 6033 Old Brownsville Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38135. Visitation will be held at the Church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, 1661 South Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee 38106. William Earl "Bill" Black Jr was born on September 19, 1916 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of William Earl Black and Cecil ( -- ) Black.

He was married to Olive Fisher and lived most of his life in Memphis, where he retired after a forty-five year career as an engineer with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.

In 1995, he moved to Franklin, Tennessee to live with his son and daughter-in-law. He was an avid University of Tennessee football fan and enjoyed playing golf, and feeding birds and ducks on the golf course.

Bill passed away at home in Franklin on June 3, 2014.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife and by his son William Earl Black III, he is survived by a married son and a granddaughter.

Funeral Services were held at Saint Elisabeth's Episcopal Church, and burial is to be in Forest Hill Cemetery on 1661 South Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis.
