Leona M. Arnold
Leona M. Arnold, 94, of Dillsburg, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. She had family by her side at the time of her passing.
She was born February 27, 1914 in Phillipsburg, PA the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Wade) Black.
Leona was the widow of Fred H. Arnold.
She was the retired owner and operator of the former Dillsburg Coin Operated Laundry. Leona was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dillsburg; Dillsburg Golden Agers; and was a former leader with the Girl Scouts and Cub Pack. Leona also enjoyed going on bus trips.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan J. Heck of Dillsburg; one son, James H. Arnold of Dillsburg; and one sister, Raenell DeHart of FL. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Diane Kimmel, David Kimmel, Jennifer Romito, Jesica Lerew, Michael Arnold and seven great-grandchildren, Shelby Kimmel, Michaela Kimmel, Brooke Romito, Ella Lerew, Paige Romito, Grace Lerew and awaiting the birth of her seventh great-grandchild in June. She was also preceded in death by two sons, David F. Arnold and John Stanley Arnold; two brothers, Lex and Roy Black; two sisters, Lenora McConnell and Hazel Wine; one grandson, Robert W. Arnold and one great-grandson, Landon Scot Arnold.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July, 19 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg with the Rev. David Kimmel officiating. Burial will follow in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 19th, 2008 from 10:30 till 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
