Barbara Blackwell

Barbara Blackwell, age 68 of Hobart passed away Thursday, January 22, 2004 in Saint Mary Medical

Center. She was a longtime Hobart resident. She was a member of First Baptist Church in New Chicago. Barb was very dedicated to her church and family. She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Barb is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Edward; daughters, Brenda (Frank) Caporale of Hobart, Faye (Edward) Fancher of Hammond, Theresa (John) Tharp of Lake Station; sisters, Cat (George) Cobbler of Huntsville, AL, Shirley
(Larry) Lee of Madisonville, TN; grandchildren, Kristina, and Frankie Caporale, Stephen Gratt, Michelle Long, Britney and Katie Tharp, April and Holly Motsinger; great granddaughter, Morgan Long; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Beulah Jenkins, daughter, Cynethia Motsinger, and brother Charles Phillips.

In lieu of flowers make memorial contributions payable to the wishes of the family.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2004 in Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. Bill Barrow officiating. Burial will follow in Blake Cemetery, Portage. Visiting hours will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2004 in Rees Funeral Home. 219-942-2109.
