Helen Maureen Baumann, 82, formerly of Floodwood, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
She was born April 4, 1914, in Duluth, the daughter of Garfield and Blanche (Murray) Blackwood. She grew up in Floodwood and graduated from Floodwood High School. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Floodwood and was active in the Catholic Women's group.
Her husband, Henry, died in 1982.
Helen is survived by three sons, Dennis (JoAnn) Baumann of Floodwood, Richard (Carol) Baumann of Cloquet, and Michael (Linda) Baumann of Princeton, Minn.; three daughters, Nancy Baumann and Meredith (Terrence) Hill, both of Duluth, and Kathleen (Michael) Backer of Bloomington, Minn.; one brother, Donald "Jack" (Marguerite) Blackwood of Los Angeles, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 11 a.m. until the noon Mass of Christian burial Friday in St. Louis Catholic Church in Floodwood. Burial will be in the spring in Fine Lakes Cemetery, Fine Lakes Township. Arrangements are with Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
