Elaine Blackwood was the widow of renowned gospel singer R.W. Blackwood, Sr. (1921-1954), who died in a airplane crash in Clanton, Alabama. R.W. and Elaine had two children, Ronald (b. 1940) and Robert Winston, Jr. (b. 1942), both of whom are currently (2019) still active in the gospel music industry. Elaine worked as a hairdresser for a number of years, and after she remarried to Col. Robert Lovell, became involved in jewelry sales at flea markets.
MRS. JOYCE ELAINE BLACKWOOD LOVELL, 67, of Memphis, former owner and operator of Flicker Street Flea Market, died Tuesday afternoon at Baptist Hospital East after a long illness. Memphis Funeral home Poplar Chapel has charge. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She leave her husband, Robert Clyde Lovell; two sons, Ronald Franklin Blackwood and Robert Winston Blackwood, both of Memphis; her father, E.G. Whitehead of Jackson, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Jo Savery and Mrs. Yvonne Denson, both of Jackson, Miss.; a brother, E.G.
