Blackwood, Betty Anderson of Maryville passed away peacefully at MorningView Village Transitional Care Center on Wednesday, August 30, 2006.

She was born in Nashville, TN to the late Thomas Douglas Anderson and Judith Tyler Anderson.

Mrs. Blackwood graduated from Hillsboro High School in Nashville, TN and after graduation attended business school.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leland C. Blackwood. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas D. Anderson, Jack T. Anderson, and Robert Anderson.

Mrs. Blackwood was a long-time member of New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville.

Mrs. Blackwood, with her husband, designed and built several apartment complexes in Maryville as well as owning and managing several other business ventures. Both Mr. and Mrs. Blackwood were involved in the antique business for many years. Although Mrs. Blackwood worked with her husband on various business projects, she dedicated the greater part of her life to her four children and ten grandchildren. She was a loving wife and mother. She cherished her family and loved having an active part in the lives of her loved ones.

Mrs. Blackwood is survived by four children: Judy Stanley, Penny (Sam) Ferguson, Debbie Oliver, and Leland C. (Lisa Rueter) Blackwood, Jr. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Stephanie (Jay) Walls, Stephen (Joe Bush) Stanley, Randy (Alisha Waldroop) Stanley, Laurie Ferguson, Julie Ferguson, Carl Oliver, Doug (Vikki Renfro) Oliver, Ginger (Fred) Martin, Lanny (Meg Thoma) Blackwood and eight great grandchildren: Grace Cox, Sarah Walls, Savannah Oliver, Alyssa Blackwood, and Jenna Martin. She is also survived by her dear sister Florence (Don) Roloff, sister-in-law Mary Grace Anderson, nephew Charles Roger Blackwood, and extended family including many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A private family burial, officiated by Rev. Lisa R. Blackwood, will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.
