BLANCHARD Betty Jean Florsia Blanchard, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 73, surrounded by her family on Friday, March 30, 2007. She was the loving and devoted wife of Evans Joseph Blanchard for the past 56 years. She is survived by three daughters: Robbie B. Pittman, husband Thomas E. of New Orleans, LA, Dawn B. Garraway of Baton Rouge, LA and Melissa B. Brown of Kenner, LA. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Monique R. Mouier of Baton Rouge, LA, Michelle E. Mandeville, husband J. James of DeRidder, LA, E. Ryan and E. Colleen Garraway of Baton Rouge, LA and Kim J. Brown, Jr. of Metairie, LA. Also survived by 5 step-grandchildren: David Garraway of Austin, TX, Michael Garraway of Baton Rouge, LA, Nicole and Amanda Pittman of Baton Rouge, LA and Victoria Pittman of Pontchatoula, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice Rowell and Robert Louis Florsia; and her only sister, Helen F. Mains. Betty was an avid golfer and gardener. She was a member of the Ladies St. John Golf Club and the Bayou Oaks Golf Club. She was also a member of the New Orleans Women's Golf Association and worked each year with the Junior New Orleans Golf Association. She was a member of the Gentilly Woods Gardeners and the Louisiana Fern Society. She was very involved with her daughters as their Brownies or Girl Scouts Leaders for several years. She was a Member of the Lakeview Presbyterian Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park & Mausoleum. Visitation on Tuesday from 12:00 NOON until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations would be preferred to the charity of your choice.
