A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg for Edna Blanchard Bascle, 93, a native and resident of Bourg, who died at 1:30 p.m. May 21, 1999.
Burial was at the church cemetery.
She was the mother of Randolph Bascle of Bourg, Carol Basle Sr. of Dulac and
June Bascle Pellegrin of Houma and sister of Alphonse Blanchard Jr. of Bourg.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Macon T. Bascle; parents, Alphonse
and Ezoline Matherne Blanchard; son, Roland Bascle Sr.; daughter, Lillian
Bascle; brothers, Emile, Henry and Adolph Blanchard; sisters, Lucille
Robichaux and May Schouest, and four grandchildren.
She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, a member of the
Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters and a homemaker.
Samart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
