Mrs. Lucy E. Black
Mrs. Lucy E. Black, 79, of 43 Church St., for 70 years a resident of Oneonta, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 3 at Fox Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, at the Bookhout Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph A. Fiske, pastor of the Elm Park Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Black was born August 17, 1884 at Jordan, N.Y., a daughter of Willis E. and Frances (Hall) Blanchard. She was married December 5, 1911 to Atwell D. Black in Oneonta. Mr. Black died January 8, 1953.
She lived in Oneonta for 70 years and was a member of the Elm Park Methodist church.
Surviving are two sons, Maurice W. Black of Syracuse, and Russell D. Black of Homer; three daughters, Mrs. Georgiabelle Williams and Miss Helene L. Black, both of 43 church St., and Mrs. Harold Wilkins, 450 Chestnut St.; a brother, Carl C. Blanchard of Schenectady; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
