He was born July 31, 1938 in Athens, WI son of the late Norbert & Mildred (Hanke) Blatz.
Bob graduated from New Holstein High School in 1957.
He served in the National Guard for 10 years.
On June 10, 1961 he married Jellane Strohschoen at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
Bob and his family had farmed in the Town of New Holstein.
He had worked at the M-B Company in New Holstein, Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein, the Food Mart in Kiel and in his retirement years he helped as a funeral assistant with the Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein.
He was a former member of St. Martin Catholic Church in the Town of Charlestown and a former member of the New Holstein Fire Department. Bob was currently a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton and the New Holstein Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Jellane of New Holstein; his 2 children, Kevin "Blato" (Sandy) Blatz and Michelle Blatz both of New Holstein; his 2 grandchildren, Cassandra & Brandon Blatz; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Bob) Guenther of Milwaukee and their children, Kristina & Kyle Kallenberg and Christopher & David Guenther; a brother-in-law, Randy (Gerry) Schwoerer of Sheboygan and their children, Gwenn (Darrin) Bruse and Rhonda & Aaron Schwoerer; 2 great nieces and a great nephew and his grand dog, Sebastian. Preceding him in death were his parents; his in-laws and a nephew, Jonathan.
Burial will be in the St. Martin Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Charlestown.
