Mrs. Dora Blatz, 79, of St. Peter, where she resided with her brother, Gregor Gilgenbach, died this morning, June 4, 1981, at the home of her daughter in Dotyville.
She was born Feb. 16, 1902, in the Town of Taycheedah, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret Halfmann Gilgenbach. She was married to Clarence Blatz on Sept. 27, 1923, and he died July 27, 1963.
Mrs. Blatz was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church at St. Peter, Altar and Rosary Society of St. Peter’s Church and St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Dotyville and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cyril (Lola) Braun of Dotyville and Miss Celine Blatz of San Francisco, Calif.; three sons, Edward of St. Peter, Clarence of Armstrong and Eugene of Dotyville; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Marie) Huberty of Sheboygan; and three brothers, Leo and Gregor Gilgenbach both of St. Peter and Hubert Gilgenbach of Johnsburg. A stepsister and two stepbrothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zacherl Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, Dotyville. The Rev. Wayne Barta will officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.Visitation for Mrs. Blatz will be after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Hope.
