Jerry Blatz, 90, of Dotyville, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital. Jerry was born on March 11, 1917, the son of Joseph and Helen Schneider Blatz. On October 23, 1943 he married Bernadette Goebel at St. Michael's Church in Dotyville. He farmed along with his wife on the Blatz farmstead on County Road T. The farm continues in the family with their son Ken and his wife Joanne. He was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Parish, now Shepherd of the Hills, belonging to the Holy Name Society. He was also a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Fond du Lac and the Empire Threshing Association. He enjoyed family, farming, playing cards, and telling stories.
SURVIVORS: Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernadette; four sons, Gerald "Skook" (Kathy), Ken (Joanne) Blatz, Rick Blatz, all of Dotyville, Don (Carolyn) of Eden, his five daughters, Carol (David) Thome, Joan (Don "Smitty") Rait, Janet (Gary) Smith of Fond du Lac, Pat (Fritz) Goebel of Eden and Jackie (Jeff) Lindsley of Campbellsport. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren: Brian Blatz, Tanya Goebel, Patrick, Paul, and Sara Thome, Sherri Bucher, Shelly Krahn, Ronald and Scott Goebel, Angela Benike, Michael and Joseph Abhold, Renee Pionke, Rebecca, Kevin, Ted, and Greg Blatz, Jon, Holly and Jacob Blatz, Joshua, Kayce and Jason Blatz. Brooke Lindsley and 23 Great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister-in law, Loretta Blatz of Chilton. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Clarence, Edwin, Leo, Raymond, and Lawrence Blatz and Frank Petrie, and his sisters, Alvina Reed, Evelyn Hansen, Bernice Blackmore and one grandchild Tim Blatz.
