Elsie Block, age 95, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2006 and formerly of Biloxi, Mississippi and Pasadena, California passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Pikes Peak Hospice Residence.

Elsie was born on February 26, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois, to Franz and Marie (Lindskog) Hess. She was a graduate of Cass Technical High School, Detroit, Michigan, and attended college at Asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky, and Wayne State University, Detroit. She married Peter Block on May 23, 1942, in Detroit. Peter passed away in 1970.

Elsie was an accomplished organist and pianist who began her early musical career in radio. She then began her ministry of music in various churches. She will be best remembered for her development of Tupperware's Party Plan marketing system and her work for the Lord in many various church ministries.

Elsie is survived by her loving daughter: Cheryl (husband, Augustus) Clement of Colorado Springs; her grandchildren: David (wife, Jennifer) Clement of Colorado Springs and Marie Clement (husband, William) Smith of Fountain, Colorado. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Memorial Services will be held at the Village at Skyline Retirement Community in Colorado Springs. Cremation is planned and burial will be at the Live Oak Cemetery in Duarte, California. Memorials in Elsie's name may be made to the Cary Christian Center, P.O. Box 57, Cary, Mississippi 39054.
