Obituary - Alan Barnes Blood, age 89, passed away Thursday, May 30, 1996, from complications following a neck injury.

Born January 29, 1907, in Kaysville, Utah a son of Minnie Ann Barnes and Henry H. Blood. He married Kay Hardy Blood September 7, 1935. Graduated from Davis High School and the University of Utah where he was a member of Sigma Chi, Phi Kappa Phi, and Alpha Kappa Psi. Alan served an LDS mission to France. Alan has served in several church positions: he was stake president for 20 years, in the Davis and Kaysville stakes. He was a patriarch for the Kaysville Stake.Alan joined Barnes Banking Company in 1932. He became president and CEO of the bank in 1968 and served in that position for 31 years. During that period of time, Barnes Banking company has been recognized nationally.

Alan has served as president of the Utah Bankers' Association, Director of Federal Reserve Bank of Salt Lake City, a member of the Red Cross Board, several hospital boards, and was one of the charter members of both the Kaysville Rotary Club and Oakridge Country Club.

Survived by his wife, Kay, of Kaysville; and two sisters, Hazel Ellison (David), Evelyn Mazuran, a sister-in-law, Lou Jean Blood of Salt Lake City; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Russell H. Blood and brother-in-law, Paul M. Mazuran.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3, 1996, 11 a.m., at the Kaysville LDS Tabernacle, 200 West Center Street. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. There will not be a viewing prior to the services on Monday. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a favorite charity.
