WEST POINT - John Robert Blood (J.R.), 79, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012.

He was born March 27, 1933 in Ogden, Utah the son of Orin and Rhea Harris Blood.

J.R. married Janis Minear. They later divorced. He married Winona Hepworth. They later divorced. Both of which made his life more complete.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

J.R. loved history, horses, western ghost towns, family history, Antelope Island and music.

Surviving are his sons, Jeff Blood, Salt Lake City; Bryan Bowles, Bountiful; York Blood, Bountiful; Tad Blood, West Point; Derek Blood, Farmington; Rob Blood, Draper; daughters, Mikki Anderson, Fruit Heights; Jonan Williams, Farmington; Jennifer Blood, Bountiful; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and John Taylor who he always considered his brother.

Preceded in death by his parents, son, Trent Blood and his first wife, Janis Minear.

His gruff, yet gentle heart will always be remembered and cherished by all that knew him.
