Nevada Public Library, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, AMES TRIBUNE, April 1998. ‘EVA EDNA BEAL March 6, 1896 – April 29, 1994. Eva Edna Beal, 98, of the Colonial Manor in Zearing, died Friday of pneumonia at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Maxwell Christian Church in Maxwell, with the Rev. Jerry Groves officiating. Burial will be in the Brethren Cemetery in rural Maxwell. Eva Bloomfield was born in Maxwell to John William and Minnie Etta (Belcher) Bloomfield. She married Ray Earl Beal on Aug. 12, 1914, in Maxwell. A lifetime resident of Story County, she had been a school bus driver for the Milford Township and a cook at the Story Hotel in Nevada. She was a member of the Maxwell Christian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Eva Pauline Crain of Ames; a step-son, Raymond Beal Jr., formerly of Collins; two granddaughters; a great grandson; three step-grandchildren; and a sister, Vivian Angle of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1948, two sisters and two sons. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8p.m., at the Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. A memorial fund has been established."
