Home Going Services for Mrs. Cleola Bates, 76, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, will be 11am Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 713 W. Cincinnati Ave., DeLand, FL. Burial will follow the service at DeLand Memorial Gardens, DeLand, FL. Visitation hours are 4-7pm Friday, at Unity Funeral Home.

Cleola Blue-Bates was born September 1, 1936 in Rock Bluff, Florida to the proud parents of Johnnie and West Anna Blue. She attended the public schools of Gadsden County. Later in life, she moved to DeLand, FL where she married her current husband, Lenton "L. C." Bates. She received Christ at a very early age, and was an active member of Kingdom Hall of Jehova Witnesses until her health declined. She was baptized February 26, 1994.

Cle, as she was affectionately known by family, enjoyed fishing, sewing, shopping and buying beautiful clothing. She loved to laugh and was an all around beautiful person who enjoyed life to the fullest. On May 15, 2013, God called her home to eternal rest joining her parents and siblings, Willie Blue, Sarah Nubin, Marie Jones, Lossie Brown, all of which preceded her in death. Her final days were spent surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Cleola leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Lenton "L. C." Bates; sisters, Rina Mathis, Mattie C. Parker, Martha Blue, Anna G (Milton) Jackson, Anna M. (Hayward) White; brother, Johnnie (Ola) Blue; brothers-in-law, Freddie Jones, Will Smith, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Annie Ruth Gardner, Deborah Howard; and a host of other devoted and sorrrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

Arrangements entrusted to the anointed care of Angela Dallas-Johnson Unity Funeral Home Inc., 105 W. New Hampshire Ave., DeLand, FL. 32720 386-740-1891."Our steps are ordered by God."
