Mr. Benjamin J. Blue, 96, resident of Sanderson, Florida, departed from this life August 29, 2011 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Blue was born February 15, 1915 to Owen and Annie Blue. Both preceded him in death. He Joined Faith Temple Church of God In Christ at an early age under the leadership of Elder M.L. Presley. Mr. Blue was employed by Northeast Florida State Hospital and retired after 15 years of employment. He also worked many years for Lays Potato Chip Company of Jacksonville. He was united in Matrimony to Jessie Blue. Nine children were born from that union. Three children, Elizabeth, Mary and Jessie Blue preceded him in death. Left to cherish memories; his lovely wife of 35 years; Callie Mae Blue, Sanderson, FL; Three daughters, One son and One stepson; 21 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Lee, Pensacola, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Blue will be 12:00 noon Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Faith Bible Church, Sanderson, Florida. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Combs Funeral Home, Lake City, FL.
