CHESTEFIELD – Mrs. Estelle Blue, 87, died Feb. 19,2009.



Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Feb. 28 at Rock Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Ruby. Burial was held in Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.



Mrs. Estelle Blue, foundly known as "Jack" by her husband, "Miss Daisy", Baby Girl", "Essif-Mae Trail" and "Mamasita by her shildren, was born Nov. 1, 1921. She was the wife of the late Clinton Blue, affectionately known as "Bo" and the daughter of the late Tom and Louisa Little. Estelle was the youngest of 11 siblings and is the last to depart.



Estelle was a life-long member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended Robk Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She lived in Cheste-field until 1960 then she relocated to New Haven, Conn. She and her husband moved back to Chestefield in 1976 where she remained until her death.



Estelle was a brilliant and competitive checkers player. She loved to knit, dine out and wrestle with her grand-children. Estelle was a cheerful and generous woman and was a collector of many things. She had lots of fun singing and dancing to the song, "I Feel Good". She enjoyed traveling and visiting with her children, and was well known for her seet potato pies. She traveled to South Africa where, they spoke several different languages.



Estelle was a member of the Shining Star, Chapter #173, Order of Eastern Star in Morving, N.C.



Estelle was preceded in death by her hussband, Clinton; daughter, Margaret Pitt; Sisters, Mary Harrell, Sarah Leak, Glenda McBride, Winnie Floyd, Ethel Bittle, Cora Cash, Edith Smith, Bessie Joines; brothers, Thomas and Leroy Little, and son, Bobby Little.



Surviving are her children, James Little of New Haven, Conn., Calvin Little (Idell) of Charlotte, N.C., Corina Graham of Piscataway, N.J., Lillian Vinstaon of Hamden, Conn., Elizabeth Sminth (Samuel "Sonny") of Cambria Hights, N.Y., Flossie Marchall of District Heights, MD, Vivian Blue-Hughes (Robert) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Frances Barnes of Hamden, Conn., and Susan Blue of Waldorf, MD; 29 grandchildren and 36 great-grand-children and six great-great-grand-children; and other relatives and friends.
