Daughter of Murray Lee and Lois Turner Cope, wife of Herbert Melvin Blue.


Mrs. Faye Cope Blue, 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Bennettsville First Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Thomas Buck. Burial will follow at the Blue Family Cemetery.

Born August 5, 1936 in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late Murray Lee and Lois Turner Cope. She was married to the late Herbert Melvin Blue. She attended the Bennettsville First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a retired purchasing agent with So-Pak-Co, and worked with the Bennettsville Housing Authority. Mrs. Blue was an avid fisherman, and loved Larry Byrd and the Boston Celtics. She was a former contestant in the Miss Southern 500 at the Darlington Raceway. She enjoyed entertaining, and cooking for people, and made the best hushpuppies and collards.

She is survived by her son, Herbert Mark Blue (Kimberly) of Bennettsville; daughters, Lisa Freeman of Bennettsville, Lana Seals (Greg) of Latta, and Anne Hubbard (LtC. Michael) of West Point, NY; a sister, Avie Munnerlyn of Bennettsville; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
