BENNETTSVILLE — Services for Mr. Herbert Melvin Blue, 70, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church with burial in the Blue Family Cemetery.

Mr. Blue died Tuesday. Born in Marlboro County, he was a son of the late Thomas M., Jr., and Livie Hensley Blue. He was an Air Force veteran and a retired insurance agent. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Bennettsville Lions Club, where he served as Sight Conservation Officer for over 20 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Faye Cope Blue of Bennettsville; a son, Herbert Mark Blue of Bennettsville; daughters, Lisa Freeman of Bennettsville, Lana Blue Seales of Latta and Faye Ann Blue Hubbard of West Point, NY; brothers, Robert Blue, Fred Blue and Edmond Blue, all of Bennettsville; sisters, Mrs. Magdalene Hyatt and Mrs. Frances Quick, both of Bennettsville; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
