Evelyn Beatty
Evelyn May Beatty, 80, of West Burlington, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born April 9, 1925, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Elmer Albert Blume and Ada May Patterson Blume Sellers. On May 11, 1941, she married Frank E. Willson. On Jan. 23, 1965, she married Robert J. Beatty in Burlington. He died July 5, 2002.
Mrs. Beatty worked for Selby Produce for 12 years and Leheigh Leopold Desk Co. for 20 years.
She was of the Lutheran faith. She loved to read, watch sports, listen to music and enjoyed flower gardening and animals.
Survivors include four sons, James A. Willson of Jacksonville, Fla., Joseph Willson of Macomb, Ill., and Wesley E. Willson and John A. Willson, both of Burlington; one daughter, Sandra E. Yaunk of Fort Madison; two stepsons, Robert J. Beatty Jr. and Paul D. Beatty, both of Muscatine; one stepdaughter, Patricia Sharp of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandson, one stepgrandson and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral for Mrs. Beatty will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice, West Burlington Fire and Rescue and PAWS.
