The visitation for Carol Ann Blumenschein (nee Schaeffer), 75, will be held from 4:00 until the time of the funeral services at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main Street (Route 83), with Pastor Roger Handyside of Cornerstone Community Church in Wadsworth officiating.
Interment will be private in Millburn Cemetery, Old Mill Creek, Illinois.
Born Decemebr 23, 1935 in Chicago, she departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at her home in Lake Villa.
Carol was the beloved wife of Kenneth Baker Blumenschein, whom she married on April 22, 1955. She lived selflessly, devoting her life to her family, grandchildren and friends. She loved baking, cooking, presenting herself with style and grace, and her beloved animals. She adored her grandchildren deeply, cherishing the times they spent together. She was an honorary member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W.
Carol is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Kenneth; her sons, Kenneth (Anita) and Karl (Geraldine); her grandchildren, Scarlett, Beau, Elizabeth, and Jennifer; and numerous family members and friends. All those she cooked for and lovingly shared her life with will miss her greatly.
