Archie Beth Hayes Bobo died Monday, February 5, 2001. She was born in San Saba, Texas on July 11, 1923 to Clyde Hayes and Vallie Robbins Hayes. She lived in Houston from 1942 till 1983 when she moved to Richmond, Texas. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1979 after 33 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

She is survived by one son, Charles A. Tillinghast; grandson, Dylan H. Tillinghast; one sister, Mrs. Clydola Patterson of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Arnold Hayes and wife, Tommie, of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visitation with family from 6 until 8 o'clock in the evening on Thursday, February 8, 2001, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, February 9, 2001, with Dr. James Deloach officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Clyde Hayes, James Patterson, Duane Scott, Ted Lewis, Darrell Lewis, Christopher Bobo, Carlton Smith, and George Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Hogg, Bill Bullock, Frank Kendrick, Leland Sims, George Winfield, and Bill Gunn.

In lieu of flowers and for those desiring, memorial contributions may be directed to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 6400 Woodway, Houston, TX 77057, or a charity of your choice.
