Herman married Marie A. Paeth (1892-1962) on Oct. 29, 1905. If Marie's birth year of 1892 as shown on her gravestone is accurate, she would have only been around 13 years old when married. It may have been a "shotgun" wedding as she was apparently also pregnant at the time, having her first child in January of 1906. The 1892 birth year may not be correct - Census records indicate an approximate birth year of 1890.
