He attended St Benedict’s grade school and Decorah High School, graduating in 1993; where he played football and basketball. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in December, 1999. During his time at ISU, he was a member of the Iowa State Rugby Club and was selected as captain by his teammates. He began employment with McClure Engineering Company immediately after receiving his degree, and purchased ownership in the company in 2001. He later moved to North Liberty, Iowa to become the Eastern Iowa Regional Manager of the new McClure office in Coralville and three years later was instrumental in the construction of a new office building in North Liberty where the company remains. Adam served on the Iowa City Homebuilders Board of Directors, the North Liberty Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee, and was on the Board of Directors of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.
