BOLIVAR, Arnold Leslie - 78, Baker Settlement, Lunenburg Co., passed away June 28, 2007, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Baker Settlement, he was a son of the late Gordon and Lillian (Frauzell) Bolivar.
He was a past member of the Baker Settlement Fire Department, having served 25 years. He was also a past director of the Baker Settlement Cemetery Association. He is survived by his wife, Mona (Corkum) (Mader); daughters, Carol (Clifford) MacKay, Colpton; Susan (Brian) MacKay, West Clifford; Christine (Brian) Spidel, Scarsdale; grandchildren, Michelle, Tammy and Josh MacKay, Lisa Thompson; great-grandchildren, Justin and Holly MacKay, Devon and Brady Thompson; brother, Norman (Reta) Bolivar, Baker Settlement, and half-brother, Gerald Hirtle, Lower Branch. He was predeceased by his first wife, Glenice (Crouse); half-brothers, Roswell Hirtle, Carman Hirtle,and half-sister, Marjorie Moss. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. In keeping with Arnold's wishes, a public graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Baker Settlement Cemetery, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baker Settlement Cemetery Fund, S.H.A.I.D. Tree Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
