Very Rev. Englebert Boll, sixty-seven, priest at St. Stephen's Church in Exeter since 1916, died at 12:45 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital , where he was taken Saturday night.

Father Boll went to Lincoln to participate in the silver jubilee observance for Bishop Kucera and the annual clergy retreat. He was scheduled to serve as a deacon of honor at the jubilee mass Monday morning.

Pontifical requiem mass will be held at 11:30 o'clock this, Thursday, morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Chapel, with Bishop Louis B. Kucera, celebrant. The body will be then brought to Exeter to lie in state from 3 p.m. Thursday till services Friday morning, after which the casket will not be opened.

Funeral services will occur Friday morning at 10 at St. Stephen's Church, with Rev. Ferdinand Mock of Crete in charge. Burial will be in Exeter.

Born in Matlen, Hanover, Germany, Father Boll received his early education there, coming to the United States in 1892. He attended St. Manred seminary in Indiana from 1892 to 1894, taking up his philosophical studies. From 1894 to 1897 he studied theology at St. Mary's seminary in Baltimore.

He was ordained for the diocese of Lincoln, June 17, 1897, by Cardinal Gibbons and served his first charge in McCook. After a month in McCook, he served in Orleans for two months and then at Elsie from 1897 to 1899.

Father boll served at Shelby from 1899 to 1900; Juniata, 1900 to 1912; Beatrice from 1912 to 1916, and then went to Exeter. He was dean of the diocese.

One niece is the only relative surviving Father Boll, one of the earliest priests in the diocese and one of the seniors in point of service, was well like by his parishioners in all parts of the state and by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed.
