Catharina Helümann was born in Dithmarschen, Schleswig-Holstein (Germany). She was the second wife of Peter Böll, whom she married at Dithmarschen on December 5, 1879. Almost a year after the birth of their daughter Anna she emigrated to the United States with her family, departing Hamburg aboard HAPAG's SS Bohemia on May 25, 1882. After a brief residence in Pottawatomie County, Iowa, she settled in Howard County, Nebraska. After the death of her husband she went to live with her daughter in Iowa. Following her death her remains were returned to Howard County for burial beside her husband.
